Dafydd joined Ease as a Partner to Andy Cook in April 2011, and brings with him 18 years of Project Management experience of the highest standard, working and leading high profile projects with major construction leaders.

Recently, his abilities were displayed whilst he took charge of Kier Western’s Salt Quay House developement in Plymouth, where the client was developing a high quality £8.5 million commercial building where attention to detail and logistical planning was essential. Dafydd took charge of the project 12 weeks into the 67 week construction programme, at a time when it was six weeks behind due to problems in the ground. It was evident that Dafydd recognised and respected the dedication and skills of the design team and very soon a strong working environment was created that allowed the whole team to focus on the key issues of quality, delivery and programme recovery. With his intensive management, supervision and excellent site organisation, Dafydd constantly demonstrated a determination to overcome problems, which carried the respect of others and engendered a consequent desire not to let him down.

The standard of finish achieved in the completed building is exemplary and there were no defects at hand over, which is a testament to the team that Dafydd led, and consequently earned him nomination for Project Manager of the Year and the construction winning Major Project of the Year at the Michelmores Commercial Property Awards 2009. Salt Quay House also won Best New Building at the Abercrombie Awards in 2010, which every 4 years celebrates the best buildings in Plymouth.

Client Graham Browne, Executive Principal: “Over the past two years we have seen a good team of contractors grow into an excellent team, in the main due to Dafydd’s approach to teamworking and through his ability to instil high expectations from all his staff, whilst still retaining their respect at all times.”

Estover Community College won a Gold Medal at the Considerate Constructors Scheme Annual National Site Awards 2011 – an achievement which placed this in the highest scoring 2% of the 8500 eligible sites.
